Three dog night was a legendary rock band from New Braunfels, texas that can be found on both the up and down coasts playing anywhere that the public is willing to go. Originally from florida, the band had their first pubege in 1978 and began their ever-growing career in 1976. They originally name was Three Dog Night and their first album was released that year. They released another two albums in the same year and their first professional show was on aug. 9, 1976 at the New Braunfels coliseum. The show was a sell out and the band was happy with their new surroundings. The New Braunfels coliseum was three times the size of the current building and it was only the second time in town s history that the coliseum was in use. The first time the building was used was in 1954 when the New Braunfels air force base was in use for many years.
the band s first serious appearance in the united states was at the university of texas at austin on apr. 20, 1978. The team that they were on that day was the first and only team to ever win a world cup. The team was made up of immigrants who had moved to texas from other parts of the country. The three dogs on the team were eric, david and john. The team was t the only new one that the band had on their team. The band had brought in a new member ininistykey nessle from dallas in 1977. The new member was later to become the band s second lead guitarist, john lee hooker.
the band was ready to start their new career in New Braunfels. The show was set up in the New Braunfels coliseum and the band was willing to play there even though the place was only three times its current size. The game involved a team of players fighting against an enemy team. The team that meets the conditions wins. The set list was the same as the previous night with some new anthems related to the encore. Bacon appeared on the stage with the usual guests. A few minutes after the encore began, the band took a break. There was a video game party held in the front row that night called the 6th day.
